# Experiments with different beginnings

> Longevity Medical Wellness reading room — The Longevity Medical Wellness reading list: Epitalon developmental exposure, mouse survival, cultured egg cells, telomeres and an Epithalamin human follow-up.

**Reading room**

Developmental exposure is the entrance. The other papers change the starting age, the material, the preparation or the period of observation.

## Lifespans and starting ages

The [fruit-fly developmental-exposure paper](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/11087911/) is the natural beginning for this collection. Beside it sit the [female Swiss-derived SHR mouse study](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/14501183/) and the [elderly human Epithalamin follow-up](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/14523363/). I would read their descriptions of the intervention before comparing their outcomes.

## Culture experiments

The [mouse post-ovulatory oocyte experiment](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35413689/) works over hours. The [telomerase-negative fibroblast experiment](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/12937682/) begins with a stated cellular condition, while the [later cell-line study](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/40908429/) uses different exposure periods for normal and cancer cells. The [review of proposed mechanisms](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/40141333/) provides a wider context and calls attention to limited characterisation.

I examine beginnings in published research at Longevity Medical Wellness, a personal editorial site with no business services, and nothing here is medical advice.
